upgrade auto driveshaft?

when are stock auto driveshafts giving problems? im going to be putting a TT kit on soon and know i will need axles, trying to figure out if i need a DS as well.

From an uneducated, non engineer perspective, all that crap Ford put on the driveshaft to make it more "driveable" will not handle high amounts of power well. More things to fail = bad day eventually. Though, to be fair, it also depends on how much torment you put it through. If you are using sticky tires and a high stall (which your signature suggests you might), modified NA could eventually weaken it.

I havent heard of any drive shafts failing on the autos.. but doesnt mean it hasnt happened and also think a lot of people upgrade it before it becomes an issue
