The indicator has to light up in amber. but the glass can of course be red. Every car has red glass but flashes up amber

Example:

The thing is that the export model is all the same for EU, australia, China, Japan, NZ, etc. I think that Ford just went the cheap way: If EU law wants to cut something, they cut it for everyone. If NZ law wants to cut something, they cut it for everyone.
So in the end the export model meets worst of autombile laws around the world.

Bingo!

I wonder what these tail lights looks like around the rest of the world. I'd bet they're the same!

Audi, Peugeot and so on only produce red taillight lenses and are sold like that around the world. I really wouldn't have a clue to what country would only allow clear or amber lenses.

The dumbo mirrors and the DRL not to be viewable from the side those I believe to have a connection to local regulations, but the clear tail light lenses imho are simply another example of poor design taste at Ford HQ. They were probably designed by the same person who picked the 2015 paint colors and was responsible for the front end redesign as well.

It's a sad day when every new Peugeot around the world has red tribar taillight lenses and Mustangs do not.

Anybody has a clue what they are doing with the tribars? Seems like they may put LEDs directly inside of it, instead of using LEDs to light up the white plastic areas indirectly

Also: The reflector on the bottom of the headlights are white instead of amber

Good question........as the US version looks different.

We wouldn't be lucky enough to get switchback DRLs / turn signals, would we??!!?? This mule does have the place where the US turn signals are completely covered

Those can be a pre-production of the headlights they've put on the Mule ...

But yeah, seems to be an EU model of the 18'.

So when to expect the reveal of this EU model ?

When did these start passing ECE approval? :eyebulge: I must be getting old :lol:My bad.

Extemely likely, yup. A "EU" spec (tail)light (ECE code). is legal everywhere on earth. Except Mexico & Canada. And if it can pass DOT or SAE unchanged those two are covered aswell :)

That might be good news for EU. Perhaps these revised tribars don't get disallowed (because of projected light to the sides) and are allowed to remain functional here...

No, No, No, when the decision was made for the Mustang to be compliant to all export markets, the U.K. was a loving part/member of the European Union and all one big happy family ;)
