GT Premium Performance Pack from the factory. So, yes, that theory sounds very possible.
Also, if for example the studs ever got (too) hot during tack-welding them in they also are weakened.

Picture from THE_AHJ's other topic that made be think... "Hmmmz those 2 out of the 3...
Thanks for the pics. It's nice to see that it's not impossible to hammer it out. I'll probably try again before drilling.
Sounds eerily similar to what happened to mine... Is a monkey on the assembly line tightening them without a torque wrench?
That's nuts. Body shops replace sheared bolts (usually from collisions) all the time. I know Ford has no official part number for the stud, but any body shop stud/bolt of the correct size would work...
By the way, I know for a fact that the original topic starter IPOGT had just the bolt...
Yup, just the bolt. It is not connected to the shocks or the shock mount (on previous models it was?)
Here's a shitty pic from my wheel well where you can see it's not connected (although it sits close to it). (it might be from the opposite wheel I don't remember, it's the most "viewable"...
This is starting to be very suspicious... It seems to always the same one of the 4 studs that breaks.
As to having it replaced? Dealers are pretty clueless over here (Europe), so I didn't have it replaced yet.
I briefly tried to hammer it out with a 6lb hammer so I could replace it myself...
Sorry for the necro but...
I broke the same one today. The exact same one in the exact same place... (the one holding the brown harness clip)
The Strut tower brace has been on the car for several weeks with no worries (and yes I torqued them to the correct spec).
Today I thought "hey let's...
Are they exactly the same size as the yellow ones used on the rest of the dash?
Because the part number for the yellow ones is W717661-S300 (random site that sells them and has a picture up --> site)
*edit*
Nevermind I found them.
They seem to be interchangeable, but here are the part...
Good news :) I like the fact that those pics confirm they (will be/are) available in Performance Pack sizes. :)
I will be fitting them when they get available here in Europe. And the Pzeros who will only have <3000 miles by then are going in the thrash. (Because I don't even want to...
The PP staggered width Pirelli Pzero's are complete garbage unless it's bonedry and (really) hot.
Can't wait to replace them.
I've been sideways in 3rd at <2000 rpm (it was bonedry, but only 40°F)
By the way did you guys ever read this in the manual?
"Always store your summer tires indoors...
It's not only me being bad. I swear
Even in this video of a Hennesey tuned mustang, hitting 207.9 mph the driver complains 6th is too large...
See... It's not me, honest :o
From the video, I thought the limiter was still in place... Or does it just run out because 6th is overly big?
Not that it matters of course. 164 mph is more than fast enough :)
Nice car & video.
I havn't had the ?pleasure? to test my window seals at that speed yet. It's on my to-do list for this summer when I'll show my pony the Nurburgring :paddle:
When did these start passing ECE approval? :eyebulge: I must be getting old :lol:My bad.
Extemely likely, yup. A "EU" spec (tail)light (ECE code). is legal everywhere on earth. Except Mexico & Canada. And if it can pass DOT or SAE unchanged those two are covered aswell :)
That might be...
The problem is they revise the testing rules every X years so the scores can't even be compared apples to apples anymore.
A 5 star car from X years back can be a 1 star car today.
For general comparison by the public they should have never changed the rules (but the problem would be that...
Mustangs are perfectly green. Contrary to what the government would have you believe, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter how much cars pollute at all...
World’s 15 Biggest Ships Create More Pollution Than All The Cars In The World
Don't blame Ford for the clear tail lights & bigger wing mirrors
Bullshit EU legislation dictates that the US mirrors are too small, and amber indicators are mandatory (not for every EU country, but you get the idea)... So if we'd get red taillights they would be forced to add a...
