Tell me about the Cobra R... What's it like compared to the new stangs? Did you have a GT350 before the 500? Curious how'd it compared to that since the were both N/A and manual trans.
The R is a great car however it is 20 years old. The R is a track car no cats and straight thru mufflers. All Rs have a unique sound on track deep and throaty, I been told sometimes when downshifting from full throttle flames shoot out the side exhaust. Gobs of low end torque unlike today’s car that rev forever. Kenny Brown did the suspension both front and rear k-members so it handles great. However with only 400hp to the wheels it is low on power compared to new cars, shoot 4-cylinder cars get 400hp.
I have only driven 350 on the street completely different than the R all top end power. The 350 the power seems to never end and builds as the rpm climb and doesn’t have the low end torque the R has.
The 500 has both only been to little over 6000rpm and the power is still coming.
The R has a cool factor to it. A lot of people comment they can’t believe I’m on track with the R. I think that’s a stupid comment because the car was ment to be driven and even though it’s 20 years old it only has 15,000mi however almost all of those miles are track miles.
All three cars are great for what they are.
