UK spare wheel?

Evening all

After much searching, I'm liking Earlingy's solution with the Hyundai spare.
I stopped by the Hyundai parts shop in Aberdeen but the computer says no. Doesn't recognise the US part nos and can't cross reference them. Hyundai UK don't appear to answer their emails, so no progress being made.

I quite like the idea of a full size spare with a chunk removed and welded back up. Struggling to find anybody who will do that.

So now I'm thinking Jaguar or Range Rover 19" space saver with pcd adaptor.
My XKR had a space saver that would clear its Brembo's. Can't rember its size but it was red so I guess 18". I would guess a 19" would work especially with a 20/25mm pcd adaptor.

Anybody had any success with this?

just buy yourself a good set of wheels and keep a standard one as a spare failing that there's a few been written off recently wheels may make their way on to ebay...

Yea, let it go basically. I'm so old school I was aghast at the idea of not having a real spare wheel, but everybody's go at it is so compromised in one way or another you may as well just use the pump and gunk. Manders got a flat and managed to make it work I think.

Shame, slightly annoying, but since not all 4 wheels are the same, you've got to have a flat on the "correct" wheel otherwise the spare you put on either won't fit over the caliper (if you take the ecoboost spare) or will stick out (or be too far in) compared to the others. More trouble than it's worth frankly - it pains me to write this.

I extensively researched the emergency space saver spare wheel options for the 2015 Mustang 5.0 GT.

(£271.91 + VAT) will not fit the front wheel position for the 2015 Mustang 5.0 GT.

One possible solution for a front wheel puncture with the 2015 Mustang 5.0 GT could be to move the wider rear wheel to the front position and fit the space saver spare wheel at the rear.

My dealer tested the configuration with the rear wheel swapped to the front and indicated that it did fit but were advised by Ford Technical that the space saver spare wheel was not approved or supported for use at the rear wheel position for the 2015 Mustang 5.0 GT.

I didn't take this any further as I didn't want to risk possible warranty issues with the auto transmission that could be blamed on using a space saver spare wheel at the rear position. Also I decided to not pay out £325.00 .

But if you search for Hyundai Equus it should come up. 'Spare tire solution for GT PP'. Apparently the centre bore needs opening up a bit but otherwise fits front and rear. Fitted with a 155/70 R19 should almost give you the same diam as a normal rear wheel. The Ford spare and tyre are 2 inches smaller diam and may possibly damage the LSD.

Changing a wheel at the roadside is about number 1000005647373 on the list of things im willing to do.

Too dangerous.

Plus, what do you do with the roadwheel when the spare is on.....

Takes no more than a few minutes at the keyboard if you can find the things in the UK.

I've got all the time in the world whilst I'm waiting.

Oooop north though things can be a little different, you're not always 5 mins away from a tow truck and a tyre shop.

It all starts getting very kafka-esque. Yes if it's on the back, it'll work. If the flat is on the front then you have to take two wheels off, swap a back to replace the front and put the ecoboost spare on the back. No way I'm doing that on the side of the road, particularly if it's the side facing the carriageway.

I do; but I'd call the RAC anyway unless I'm in a car park or similar.
