UK Mustang Deposit <-> Build Confirmation Tracking

Mine was built ages ago and is still at Baltimore waiting to be put on the boat apparently. I've been told current estimate is around 15th December. I'm assuming it'll be a bit later so thinking about the Jan 2016 registration myself. I'm not sure if this will this really make much difference to the residuals? Any experiences?

Potential downsides are the short wait until after Christmas and knowing the car would be left with the clowns at the dealership. I can't picture this without my mind taking me to a picture of a car in one of those monkey enclosures at a safari park, but where they've got hold of the keys.

So email from Karen yesterday confirming the boat has left the U.S. Port. Still saying a December delivery.....but not when in dec. as for 2015/2016 reg! I'm just gonna drive it, been waiting 3 years for it any bu@@ered if I'm going to let it sit there! :cheers:

They're shipping KLine not WWL so that won't work

Stick the first 6 figures of the VIN into it and there are a hell of a lot of Mustangs on their ships.

Someone on the Euro forum mentioned that WWL use Kline.

Love the fact that we are all into Shipping now. I might start listening to the forecast on Radio 4

Nah they're 2 totally separate shipping companies, WWL carry the aussie cars, a lot of military orders and anything destined within the USA that can't be railed

Looking at the tracking websites, ships seem to go 'out of range' of the terrestrial tracking systems when in mid-Atlantic - so positions won't be updated from when the vessel gets a few hundred miles from the 'departure' coastline until it's within a few hundred miles of the 'arrival' coastline. It seems there are two tracking systems, one terrestrial-based (which is what you get free access to) and a satellite system. You can track the vessels in mid-Atlantic but you have to pay for the satellite upgrade on the website.

Whether this upgrade to satellite has always been the case or has happened recently I'm not sure, having never wished to track a vessel before! ...... but I guess they may have introduced it due to the sudden increase in website traffic trying to track vehicle carriers across the Atlantic!

I know a couple of guys who work for LLoyds - if the vessel is insured with them (likely) they'll have real time tracking.

ford put out announcement thru dealers
"even though this wasn't our fault we are pulling out all stops and the ucl130 winners and a few early deposit payers will still get their cars by December..... no was that November..... no lets try December"
