You need to pull off a cylindrical dampener down by the bottom of the heat shield in order to reach the torx bolt that holds the heat shield in place at the bottom. You will have to feel for the torx bolt it can not be seen from the top. To remove the heat shield you need to wiggle it around and deform it enough to slide out. The whole process is simple 10mins at most
You will have to bend it / straighten it some and really use some force to get it out. I was really surprised at how much I had to bend and pull to get it removed.
I'm not sure what your question is... I didn't permanently remove the shield I took it off to replace the WGA with a different one. Then I put the heat shield back on.
