The only tuner that provides tune for v6 is torrie not too long ago. Now we got Bama and MPT as well and all of those use SCT tuners. That's the main reason I believe

Ah okay, well from the diablosport site it does support the V6 engine and whats also useful is that the device is compatible with MAC products. Since sct only allows PC windows to upload tunes :tsk:

That's just because v6 options as far as aftermarket parts and tunes were EXTREMELY limited for the first year and a half, it was hard enough just to find an axelback when i bought the car. and only just recently bama came out with their tune a couple months back and MPT just a week ago released theirs. so right now the v6 community is just trying stuff out as it becomes available lol.

Cant really say who the best is, and it may very well be personal preference as for me having tried BAMA and MPT I prefer MPT...but im sure there are 3.7 owners that prefer torrie/bama/SCT so who knows lol

I had them both used them sent both back for refunds got a SCTx4 from SCT Sanford, FL direct love it comes preloaded with 87, 91, 93 tunes, you can program the menu to what you want RPM's idle, park, nautral and redline 7200 rpm's turn off the rev limiter and for auto trans set the shifting firmness from 0 to +25% coupled with the other mod's SK throttle spacer, JSM PedalMAX, K&N drop in filter I'm very quick from idle stop to top end no leg what so ever 30 to 100 in no time.

Reason behind sending them back? if i may ask? I may not go with sct because I would not be able to upload custom tunes due to me having MAC laptop

Got a windows PC anywhere in the house? family member/room mate? even a friends computer would be fine. literally only need to open the tune up on the email move it to SCT downloader and upload to your device. i believe they have windows emulators for the MACs as well, another option would be to buy a crappy $2-300 laptop

Unleashed was the first tuner on the market everybody jumped on it after having a dyno tune and had only 4.8 hp increase and held the rev limiter to 120 mph I sent it back Dibalosport came with out a tune in it. I like the SCTx4 from SCT Sanford, FL because of what I can do with it as I stated earler. The only time you need a computer is for updates which are few and far between. The other reason I like it is if I go on a trip were there's on 93 octane I can put a nother tune in.

Unleashed uses the SCT software for tuning and you would have had to have a SCT hand held to load his tunes, the X4 is SCTs least expensive hand held and the most popular.

I would always recommend that you buy the hand held from a tuner and not directly from the manufacturer. That way you will get the semi custom tune as well as the canned tunes that come from the device manufacturers. That way you can try both but I think you will find that the tunes from a tuner will always give you more power because they are customized to the mods you have plus they will modify the tune to take advantage of mods you add in the future.

There are only 2 tuners made SCT or Diblosport both in Florida and both are hand held most use SCT as you can see, they take the basic tuner and program it with there own programs and yes to your mod's. How ever I had both Unleashed and Diblosport, Unleashed came with a 93 octane program that could not be adjusted and after having a dyno test only produced 4.8 more HP and no TQ increase Diblosport came with no programs in it for the V6 Mustang sent both back for a refund. I read on here with all these mod's to intake and exhaust of hundreds of $$$ that produce nothing else but noise. If you go to a recommended dyno shop they laugh at all there mod's. Your only going to get so much out of the ECU. I'm not new to high performance drag racing cars had a 57 Chevy 327CI/375 HP FI Corvette engine 4 speed in the mid 60's and a 18 foot Hondo 482 CI/500 HP drag boat in the 80's that ran 110 mph in the 1/4 mile.

Your SCT from Unleashed also came with all the tunes SCT has for all the Ford products they support. I hadn't updated mine in a while so I did yesterday, it down loaded 276 modified tune files to the device.

To get the most from any custom tune you have to data log the car and send the log back tothe tuner. They will look at it and determine what needs to be revised to optimize your particular car.

Torrie at Unleashed looked data logs of my car and revised the tune. There was a very noticeable improvement after he adjusted the tune.

Of course if you have a local tuner that has experience with your car then that would be the fastest and most expensive way to get it dialed in.
