Turbo everything
If your turbo fails there is a high likelihood of it taking out the engine as well.
Huh? Care to break down the logic behind this? So if a turbo fails exactly what is going on that is going to take out the motor? The turbo is after the motor on the exhaust side, and before intercoolers, throttle bodies, etc on the charge side. Even with a catastrophic failure worst case scenario you are pulling the intercooler, and charge piping to get them flushed, or fishing wheels out of the exhaust. The opposite is true though, when you lose a motor you can easily take out turbos. Maybe this is what you meant?

Enough of the off-topic. All further posts not related to Tune+ GTX2867r will be deleted. Let's get this thread back on track.
Probably the only time I've been happy to see a moderator on here. :p

For real though people if you watch the video I discuss my opinion on pricing etc. Feel free to comment on the YouTube video or PM me if you have questions about pricing. I can send you links to a few kits built to similar quality that cost 5500-7500

Scott what did you end up doing with your old 5558/5858 turbo you had previously? I am assuming it was one of those models correct?

Sold it for $800 bucks. So I took a 300 dollars loss. Not one I'm proud of but at least it all worked out in the end. Word of advice never buy a journal bearing turbo. I knew this going in but rolled the dice. I figured just cause spool up was a little slower it wouldn't be bad but it's not the spool that sucks its the response. Turbo didnt recover at all.

Im still experimenting with different manifold designs for the GTX2867R ;-)
Back at it again. Showing us stuff we will never get to have. :p you need to make a kit already. Your setup is super clean. Post it up in here.

Very nice, I assume this is the adapter that comes in the kit here just un welded. Looks like some high quality stuff.

It is not, that is the manifold he made for his own car. The GTX kit has a 40mm external wastegate on the manifold.

So I guess my question is, will this kit make 400,400+ rwhp with a auto on 92 octane. My goal overall is 500 rwhp on pump gas. Yes I know that will be a semi built short block in the future but just looking to be at 400rwhp before the end of the year and been eyeing this turbo setup for a while now

Depends on the dyno, but no about 380oct is where you max out on pump gas with a stock block regardless of the turbo.

When you do a built block you can run big boost and less timing and get more power.

However if 500 is your overall goal on pump gas you are going to want to do a little bit bigger turbo. Which I can accommodate if needed.

Well I will have to get the price of the turbo I need to accommodate that goal so I only have to buy one turbo

Yea...3076 will work. A little more lag but no problem making power you need. I personally really don't mind a little lag. I actually prefer it tbh. I'm seriously just thinking of keeping my EBM and continue with the originally planned build. Financially it make the most sense but the 16 maro SS... It's reaaaallly growing on me. Ma.... decision decision...
