Went this morning to have another look at the White US GT at Guildford Ford this morning. Took 2 of my 3 kids along to see how they would fit in the car.

The 9 year old was perfectly comfy but not so my 15 year old daughter who is 5'6". Head touching the roof/rear glass. Not good news as the missing child, a boy 12 years old is already at his sister's height and growing rapidly.

I tried sitting in the back and the legroom is fine, I'm a tad under 6ft, but my head was at a 45 degree angle or more.

When you look at the amount of space in the back of a '65 Mustang, I wonder why they made it so tight, especially as those rear seats are so comfy. I wonder if there is room to make them more sculpted thus lower.

The majority of the time I'll be driving it on my own and it's rare that I have all three at the same time, maybe just holidays and then a different car will need to be used due to the amount of luggage but it's the first time I have had a feeling of trepidation.

What am I doing spending £33k of hard earned cash on a car that I can't give my kids lifts in, I should be looking at a secondhand M3 but I have wanted a Yank Muscle car since I was little.

if this is going to be your only vehicle available then I think you have answered your own question as your "gut" feeling is telling you (trepidation) to reconsider something that is more ergonomic ally family friendly (been there myself...sold my Saleen Mustang when my second child was born...didn't get another Mustang until both were out of college). :amen:

Good sir, my English friend, I promise you that your trepidation is only a test. Yank muscle cars demand a certain part of your personality, namely the masculine, caveman, warrior side. I implore you to buy that car for the sake of your mental wellness.

Haha. Thanks.

I'll always have another car it's just that it would be a shame to use that instead of the Mustang.

But my Mental Wellness is very important and kids muck up cars anyway. You should see the state of my poor 'ol BMW.

Yes they do, which is why my kids require a strict 18 point inspection before approaching the door of the mustang. I cringe everytime they get out thinking theyre going to step on the black plastic lip that underlines the door frame/bottom of the car too.

But its really not that bad. Just set certain rules ie: no fucking food! and stomp them feet on the pavement before you get in and keep your fingers off the glass etc.

The plastic nearly went on the dealer's car when the youngest climbed out the back. I spotted it just in time.
