Was at the track today with my new Mustang....but was there with my brother running his bracket Firebird.

Was so tempted to make a couple of runs, but stayed focus on the task at hand. We’re doing some testing of carbs/intakes...long story

There were 2 very impressive S550s today, both running 9s, one was supercharged the other twin turbo. Local Mustang tuner and performance shop.

Also our friend’s kid running his 2017 Hellcat ran 10.8! Only mod, MT tires.

Looking forward to my Mustang track day.

**Sorry. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. Didn't think the distinction was that important.

Yes, I went to a drag strip yesterday.

I too was expecting to read about a road course/HPDE event.

Those 9's sound like impressive lap times.

See what they're getting at a little clearer now?

No flame intended . . . and if the Subie in your sig is the turbo 2.5L version like I think it might be, it's a year younger than the one in mine and a year closer to when they quit building them that way.

Subie is non-turbo. When we were buying it, I aleady owned a 2007 Forester XT as well, so didn’t see the need to get a 2nd turbo Subaru.

I guess my lexicon is so used to using the term “track” for a drag strip because in my circle of car enthusiasts we are pretty much singularly focused on drag racing when it comes to automotive racing. There would be no confusion.

Hoping to make it out the drag strip, ;) , later this week. 1800kms is enough of a break in period, right?

Cheers

1100-ish miles should be enough. Me, I'd probably still shift about 500 rpm shy of redline for at least the first few passes.
