TPMS sensors not working

Recently bought a new set of wheels/ tyres and TPMS that I had sitting around for about 15 months. Used a tyre shop to install the sensors at the same time. Kept the old sensors in the original set. The TPMS sensors were purchased on OZ locally and all 4 appear not to be working, just wondering if it’s the batteries as they may have been around the shop I bought them from for a while beforehand. Is it an easy replacement to change the batteries myself and if so what battery type ? Apologies for my ignorance on this one ! Or is it easier just to buy new sensors again ? Many thanks
