TPMS self leaning or does it need programming?

it takes about 45 seconds to reset the sensors with the tool, which costs $30 online. If Ford is charging more than that for it, go buy the tool online and do it yourself.

To put the car into training mode, starting with the power (start button) off...
1) Press the brake pedal, then cycle the power by tapping the start button on, off, on, off, on (and leave on)
2) then press the brake pedal again, and cycle the power, off, on, off, on, off, on

The center cluster display should beep and show a message about being in training mode. Then you just walk around and hold the training tool for a few seconds against each of the valve stems in the order the dash indicates.

2018 GT350
2018 GT350 - swapped TPMS and tires to a new set of wheels. Front TPMS were opposite sides from what car was expecting. Used procedure outlined here with toggling hazard and letting air out. Worked as described exactly. No need for tool. Note: my TPMS were ford parts. Just providing my experience for others to reference.
