Any idea what would cause a complete tpms fault?

On my PP Wheels I had a TPMS Fault on the right rear tire. When I got new tires they replaced it and could not learn it.

I now have LMR 350R wheels with their TPMS sensors. When I first put them on they link up right away.....minus the same right rear sensor.

After about 2 days all 4 disappeared and show now found. Learning process was also a fail.

Is there an issue with whatever reads the TPMS sensors? Whatever that is or what could I check.

Are you training with the training tool?

No. The hazard method.
AFAIK that method doesn't work. I don't know why it even says its in training mode, I've never gotten it to train in that mode.

To put it in a working training mode, start with the ignition (accessory power) off, tap the brake pedal once, then cycle the ignition (*not start the car, just the accessory power) on-off, on-off, on. Press the brake pedal one more time, then cycle the ignition off-on, off-on, off-on. It should say its in training mode. Then it should actually work.

I use the tool at each valve stem and it registers like right away. In theory, lowering the pressure should also work, I've just never tried it.

Tried this, got it in training mode, but letting air out did not trigger anything.

What odd is prior to swapping wheels and tires, all 3 worked minus one of the rears. I was able to re train all 3 minus the one in the rear when i had the one fault (stock pp)

After installing my new set of wheels the linked up right away, minus that SAME wheel location. After a few days they all disappeared.

are there modules that communicate with the sensors?

It doesn't make sense that with new wheels and tires and sensors, the SAME TIRE LOCATION still was reading fault ( when the new tires where first installed)

now i have none

So this issue was resolved. It actually DID require the use of a tool.

My shop pinged each sensor and plugged into the obd2 port and did whatever and BOOM they all work without an issue.

They said they sometimes go into a sleep and letting the air out in the standard procedure or self learning will not work.

Figured I would update you guys.
