One thing I have learned about body shops lately is that it isn't what it costs to do your project, but how much is will cost them to work on your car vs. an insurance job sitting there.
Do not seek out a big production shop in your area unless you were in a collision.
And as crazy as it may sound, ask the estimator or manager if they allow the painter to do small jobs on the side like this. He might be willing to do it after hours or on a weekend.
Our local shop actually did this. Not sure if they still do since Caliber Collision bought them out. They said they would rather keep the painter in their shop making extra money than someone else's shop that could potentially hire them away.
