One more thing, how do you pop out the sd card? I was using a paper clip in the left hand side hole but the little guy didn't budge.

Bring the new OS to it is not hard. The problem is that we don't have the SDK of the sync app. It'll take a long time to reprogram everything... Plus we are limited with the amount of ram...Okay, I wasn't sure if it was some type of ribbon cable or ZIF connector. I have a friend who's very well versed in WinCE and he has every bit of confidence that he can tweak anything I want. He made it sound like it would be a breeze to load a clean slate English image and bring over the other components of the OS that run the GUI for the actual radio operations.
So, if one were somehow able to obtain said SYNC SDK, it would streamline it?Bring the new OS to it is not hard. The problem is that we don't have the SDK of the sync app. It'll take a long time to reprogram everything... Plus we are limited with the amount of ram...
If we could get it from the Company that built the unit. yup! We can rebuilt everything and in English as well! I tried twice to contact them and no replies...So, if one were somehow able to obtain said SYNC SDK, it would streamline it?
I'm kind of curious how TomTop (or whoever actually makes it) acquired the SDK. If I knew who actually made it, I would shoot an email to my lead engineer at work and see if it's one of our suppliers. Might be able to talk to them.Bring the new OS to it is not hard. He's part of the Ford Developer program (which I know isn't that big of a deal, but it may come in handy) and we both have Int'l contacts in Chinese product development. I'll start pinging and see what I can get on my end, I'm all for throwing in any information I come up with!If we could get it from the Company that built the unit. yup! You can build your own SDK. The problem here is also the way they wired the hardware and everything. There's a based SDK which is included in VS2008 PRO and another one for what they are doing. (I don't know really know if it makes sense...). Also the best way would be if we could get the source code of the sync app. Once you got the source code you're golden! We can technically add/modify (change skin etc...) however we want!I'm kind of curious how TomTop (or whoever actually makes it) acquired the SDK. Another thing I was looking at was to get a full backup and tool from Ford Sync2 headunit (It runs WinCE 6 like our Tomtop). The only difference might be the hardware but we can work around that! I enrolled in Ford Developer Program but the only thing you can do is to create your own app for Sync3 I believe...He's part of the Ford Developer program (which I know isn't that big of a deal, but it may come in handy) and we both have Int'l contacts in Chinese product development. Once I'm at home on my personal computer tonight, I'll submit a REQ with the DEV team, I think I can get the backup of the Sync2 HU, but not sure about the tool? Is it an interface cable? Not sure if he has that kinds of files...OEMRadio might be able to help out on this one?
Not hardware tools I'm talking about software. The tools they use to flash the unit from factory. If we could get that tool and the original image with the NK.BIN not compiled and compile version that'll help. But then we'll still need to work on the hardware side to make it work with Ford's WinCE OS.Once I'm at home on my personal computer tonight, I'll submit a REQ with the DEV team, I think I can get the backup of the Sync2 HU, but not sure about the tool? I'll see what I can find. I gotta stop and get some tires on the way home, but I should have something by the weekend. Not hardware tools I'm talking about software. I highly doubt they used OpenXC lol plus OpenXC is an open source project which the OS and their app aren't...Also, I'm wondering how much of this is using OpenXC...
Yes we should all have sound in NAV and video right now. I know I said that I will post a video to show my settings but I've been pretty busy lately.Hello I'm new to the forum, and just want to thank everyone who has been pushing this forward. It has been awesome to see the potential of these units. I just have one question has anyone figured out how to fix the no sound in nav, or video yet?
