Tire Question for 19" rims

So, I think I'm going to re use the wheels off of my 12, but they have 275/35 Nitto's. Those tire I think are too short for the S550, so I'm looking for a decent 40 series tire.

My question is what will fit these 19x9.5 rims? I'm not up on my tire language yet and I've seen remarks that some guys are running a 255/40 on a 19x9.5?

Yes a 275 fits perfect on a 9.5 wheel.

I run 285/40r 19 on my 9.5 wheels. It's a meaty sidewall, and helps fill the fenders. It is appx 1/2 taller than the 235/55r17 that came off of it, so I had that info included in my recent tune so the speedo wouldn't be off.
