there certainly seem to be differences... I filled up with 95 "plus" in Oslo on my drive home, and I swear it felt better and used less fuel/km than what it's done since... because I don't get the plus option on 95 here... (only on diesel).

Haven't looked around for 98 station, but not sure it would be worth it... €1.60/l for 98... €1.50/l for 95... that was less of a difference than I'd figure

I only tried 95 in my previous car and it became pretty lazy on it ;-)
Weird you don't have 98+ in Norway!

Actually I believe Shell has 98 "somewhere"... I usually fuel at Statoil/CircleK though... only 95.
