I REALLY appreciate the feedback guys. I think I'm just over-thinking this whole thing. I want to be conservative one second and the next I want the car I've invested all this time in waiting and saving for. I'm going to stick to the route I've planned and I'm going to enjoy the hell out of my S550. In the end, I really won't be saving THAT much money to choose the ST over it. I am going to not think about it anymore, lol..
Hey, if the goal was to own a Mustang, perhaps the 2014 is a good choice. A friend of mine just picked up a loaded 2014 GT for 28k. Window sticker was 38K. He is young too and the payments were much more in line with what he wanted to spend. Check the lots, the dealers are going to be desperate to unload those new 2014s to make room for the 2015s. Later, if you still want an S550 when your income is higher, just trade your 2014 for a 2016, 2017, etc....

Hey guys, so I currently have a 300A with PP and Recaro's on order. I've been doing a lot of thinking, which may be my downfall, and I'm thinking of getting a different car. I'm 20 years old and plan on putting a big down payment and can afford payments, insurance, and gas. However, I'm not really sure if it's worth spending a majority of my monthly pay and tying myself down so early. So, I'm looking at a Focus ST. I found one within my area and to me, it seems like the logical thing to do. The car will still be fun, much better on gas, insurance, and the monthly payment as well. Plus, I have my eyes set on the new GT350 (or whatever it's going to be) down the line. So, what do you all think??
Not trying to tell you how to make you're decision, but just some thoughts im 24 and i think we may have some similarities and circumstances though i dont know you.
1. Youre on the right track with your thinking. and as a previous poster said, there is a difference between being able to pay for a car and being able to afford that car.
2. The big question you need to ask your self what do you WANT. The Focus ST, the 2015 mustang, or the GT350? That's important. I think you can understand how important it can be to spend your money on the car you want rather than a "pacifier"
3. Regardless of what you choose.... earn it. I dont mean that in a derogatory way at all. I mean if you want that car work for it. If you want that car with lower payments, work for it. Save your money and put a huge down payment down if you have to. Keep looking at the car everyday and see your reward at the end of your hard work.

What im saying is if you really dont feel like it's something in your reach and/or not worth the effort then your right. Leave the car for another person and find one you feel suits you. But if it is worth the effort then pull the car into your range is all im saying. BUT DONT GET CAUGHT IN SALES PITCHES AND LOAN PITCHES. Do your own hw and see how you can earn it on your own terms.
