Thinking about getting a GT

Reading this thread makes me want to trade my 2016 v6 for a 2016 gt. I found a CO base GT for $34k and online dealer price is at $32.5k and a premium for $39k. I know the 2017s have started shipping to dealers but I am not sure what kind of deals and discounts I can get. That and I am not sure if I should go upgrade to a GT. All I know is I want a GT and finances are good for it.

I'm guessing that is just the MSRP with the factory rebates factored in. I would imagine you could knock off at least a few thousand more if the dealer is eager to sell them. I used A-plan so I didn't get to haggle, but I got my '16 GT premium with 20" foundry rims, 3:55 gears, and security package for about 33500 before taxes. I was given the option to order a '17, but the price for the same vehicle was going to be just over 36k.

Life is too short to settle with something you're not happy with. I would see where you would need to be for your V6 and research the market price for them to see if it makes sense for you.

I know most will tell you to decide with your gut, but I don't think it hurts to use your head.

I would wait until you at least know what the 18s look like (fingers crossed by January). The wait to find out should only be between 6-10 months, that's really not bad. If you don't like it, great, you can skip it and get a 16 at an even bigger discount. If you do, then you can just wait for the 18 and not have any regrets.

It just doesn't make sense to buy a 16 now, find out you like the 18, and then trade it in (you will get reamed by the dealer) and end up paying thousands more when you could have just waited.

Take it from someone who was impatient, bought an Ecoboost, and is now wishing they were in a GT.

I waited for a while because I looked and looked to find the EXACT car I wanted with the options I wanted (and didn't want). It took me a few months, but I found my DIB GT PP with the silver over the top stripes at a stupid good price. I was going to order one at a local dealer, but my homework paid off. I paid way less than it would've cost me ordering one. When I saw it, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I knew there was no way I was getting anything else but the GT. And WOW, am I glad I did!!!

Waiting for 18/19 model is an option for me but I do love CO. Right now half of me want to go and trade while the other half says wait. I do have to keep in mind that I get charged more than other places for taxes and fees.

(Cars don't have feet). Or something like that.

Just picked up a 2016 Premium, PP and Recaros; Magnetic. Price I couldn't refuse and none of my money at risk. Deals are out there.
