If '17 order banks are any indication we can order our '18s in April 2017
I think we'll see them even sooner. Camaro was just redesigned and the intro date for the S650 was moved up two years. In a normal year, you could be driving an "18 in June but I think they'll open the order banks early and you'll be seeing the cars on the road in the spring. Within the next 4-5 months you'll see spy shots, car show reveals, and specifications (rumored 10 speed, rumored power increase, possibly Mach 1 or other special edition, cosmetic refresh, plus who knows what else). Like another poster said, if you hated the new model you'd have plenty of time pick up a '17.

They just need to go direct injection, like they should have in 2015.

It's very, very unlikely we'll see 18MY cars before August of next year. There are significant updates in this refresh and those are a lot different from the actions in 16 or 17. It'll have a similar timeline to the original launch.

Like others have said..you might not be in a position (vertically or financially) to get one last next year. Whatever the refresh is, it likely won't be significant enough to cause you to kick yourself. Don't let yourself get in that "wait" mode. Some people get in it and can't let themselves pull the trigger because that next manifestation is right around the corner.

Screw waiting. You could be run over by a bus next week. Get a 16 at discount and trade it in on an 18 if the refresh has more of what your looking for.
This exactly. Debated on a 16 versus 17. Got a 16 because of the steep discounts. And won't hurt as bad if I love the 18 and want to trade it in. Plus there is virtually no difference from 16 to 17.

What's the point of waiting? A year after you get your '18, they'll start rumors about the all new '20. Like others mentioned, worst case scenario, you get a great deal now and trade it in. I bought my '14 when the '15's were close to coming out. Thought about waiting, but I couldn't resist the rebates and deals on the outgoing model. I got such a deal that I was able to trade my '14 on a '16 and lost very little money over the two years of ownership...and got to enjoy a GT the whole time.

As others have said, waiting until you see what the refresh entails give you the option of getting whatever you want (between the 17 and 18). I'm used to waiting a LONG time for nice things in life. So I don't usually give in to impulsivity in the name of not knowing if I'll be alive tomorrow.

This thread has helped me change perspective a bit. Not because I was debating on waiting, but I forgot about the refresh. Very anxious to see if they do anything to the manual trans, body styling, performance pack, or interior (especially on the base model).

Thanks for the replies. If I can find a 16 GT premium in competition orange, im pulling the trigger. If not either the new grabber or lightning blue will have to do.

Good man. Life's too short to sit around waiting.

Good luck, the competition orange cars can be a bit of a pain to find. Took me a couple months to find mine with the options I wanted.

It's funny cause Ive been dying for the new camaro. I just felt a little too cramped inside and I'm only 5"9 172lbs. It's a little too expensive as well.

I was shocked. I bought an ATS in 2013 100% because of the Alpha chassis. And it is still incredible.

So I expected the Camaro to be the same. But the Alpha+ the Camaro is built on is not even close to the ATS. It may be a lot better than the 5th gens which I had zero interest in due to size and weight, but its disappointing compared to the still only pure Alpha, the ATS.

It may or may not handle better than an S550, but the S550 beats the 6gen Camaros in ergonomics, looks, comfort and the tech I care about.
