Don't take this the wrong way mate but I think you're stupid wanting to wrap the whole car, thought that all along just didn't want to hurt you by saying it, just do some small changes and in time it'll be unique. So, it would appear that the ever scamming powers that be (insurance companies) want to foil my plans. And by foil I mean prevent. Arseholes.
Apparently a 21 year old in a 31k car with a wrap is usually going to hike me up 5 grand (or 550 mimimum) on the price for my insurance. ANNUALLY.
Now, I know I've said I wanted my car wrapped, and I'm going to hold fire on spoiling what colour just yet. But I was wondering if you guys could help me?
The questions I've got are, can I make my car unique, without full wrapping. Such as so, I keep it race red however roof wing mirrors might go carbon fibre. Little details like that? Or would insurance immediately cancel knowing I've got a pit of vinyl on my car.
What about wrapping the side skirts, splitter and valance in carbon fibre?
What defines a modification really. And what is something that can somewhat go "under the radar"?
Alternatively, I have ÂŁ1600 earmarked for my wrap. What other things could I do with that ÂŁ1600 on my mustang.
Appreciate any help...

Blimey, I'll say. Well said, that manAnd another thing.....one day you'll wish you was 21 again, never wish time away, i'd swap places tomorrow age wise and i'm being serious now.
Don't listen to any of that^.It baffles me why people declare small mods to their insurance. What difference will it make apart from not claiming for it if you find yourself in an unfortunate situation.
I ordered my beemer without factory tint as bmw do not offer limo black tints. Also put an after market 19" black concave wheels, again not an option with bmw. When a lady van driver ran into me, my insurance took my car and repaired it without questioning me about the tints nor the wheel. And these are mods I didn't declare.
Manders - if you really want the wrap, put yourself as a named driver and get an older person to insure it. Stop faffing about with the fronting excuse.
I'm 33 and currently pay ÂŁ4580/yr for my RRS, whilst my mate(same age) with a camouflaged wrapped G65 g-wagon pays ÂŁ500 just cus he isn't living in the capital.
Sorry, bad advice with the fronting, don't listen Manders. It baffles me why people declare small mods to their insurance. What difference will it make apart from not claiming for it if you find yourself in an unfortunate situation.

If I were you and only doing small mods, I won't bother telling insurance if it results in a hike.hod somewhat, what i was asking for... Just the morality around minor mods. My corsa has black wing mirrors, i never declared them, even though you can get them stock as well.
I live way out in the sticks, the capital is no issue to me
I tried to insure the car without the mods offering to insure my mods myself and cover the loss on them, for the full wrap the issue is that it makes the car more desirable. stevec. Nothing to do with the Mustang, still madly in love with that beast, the wrap itself and insurance companies are another swap up.
