As discussed at our meeting last Sat..... we have a tentative schedule for a sporty cruise to Fredricksburg on February 27th (Saturday). We'll stay overnight at a bed&breakfast (TBD) and do the famous "Three Sisters" route just outside Kerrville on Sunday. We'll then head back on Sunday afternoon. We will probably have a nice German style lunch/dinner on Saturday in Fredricksburg, maybe a wine-tasting excursion and a nice brunch at the bed&breakfast on Sunday before the Three sisters cruise. A more detailed itinerary to follow after we work out the options.

Route options to Fredricksburg are shown on the maps attached. I recommend the I-30 (to I-20) west to Mineral Wells and take 281 south, or alternately, take 16 south off I-20. Take a look and see what you all think. By the way, these routes are about 2.5-3 hours from Ft Worth area (where we can meet-up for breakfast) to Fredricksburg. Chime in with comments and suggestions please.

Looks like it is a tournament weekend for my wife and we may not be able to make it.

The 1st route you recommended looks like more fun. I would recommend meeting up for breakfast around 8 on the 27th so we can hopefully be on the road no later than 10.

Also I think it would be good if we could all stay at the same hotel so that it's easier to get going at the same time Sunday.

Sounds good. We'll start sorting through the B&Bs for where to stay.

16 south is the more scenic and twisty route. When the wife and I ride down on the bike, we go that way.

Not sure if I'm off that weekend or not. Will have to see.

I haven't been to the Hill Country in over twenty years, so I can't make any recommendations, but I'm 100% in for this cruise.

Lets get some more people to confirm they are going please. We are only 6 weeks out and it will be time to head south. The more people on the trip the more fun we will have.

There are many classy B&B in the Fredricksburg area.... most have really nice breakfast/brunches included.... most a little over $100 (discounted). Motels are less expensive, but not as nice and most with no real breakfast included (we'll have to go to a restaurant). Check out online and then we can settle onto a few popular choices and call for a group rate. We can then make reservations accordingly.

If I can make a suggestion, Historic Leaky Inn is a very nice place in the heart of the Hill Country, great rates. Or possibly any of the Frio Canyon Resorts. http://www.friocanyonrentals.com/
