Today is a terrible day for me! Less than 100 miles on my LE and I got the first bit of damage to it.

I was backing the car down the drive way and cut it a bit too close to the fence and scrapped the car along it. I got 3 scratches along the wheel-well and the rim got some bad curb rash.

The rim is obviously replaceable, so that's not eating at me. The scratches on the other hand will not buff out, so looks like I need to see about getting it re-painted. I am so angry with myself, because I know no matter how good a shop is, the paint will never be like the factory.

I feel for you. It's a matter of time I guess. I'm still considering clear bra but am having a hard time with the cost. My luck I'll get it and scratch an area not covered.

I scratched the rear driver's wheel backing into an end spot. Yeah I know, I obviously didn't lower the mirror to watch the curb. So much for trying to be careful. I'm confident you'll find a good body shop that will make it look like new. Only you will know. Happy motoring!!!!

Does anyone know the part number for the LE wheels? I am waiting on a quote from my dealer for the wheel, but was looking on fordparts.com as well. If I found the right one (1007A) they look to be around $1,000 a wheel.

Doesn't look bad to me. Sucks but so does spending a couple grand to fix some minor scrapes. I'd roll it like that. Just my opinion. Probably some touch up on the car and no one would even notice.

So I went ahead and ordered a new rim from my dealer, but was thinking of still possibly sending out the damaged one to be repaired, if possible.

Was wondering if anyone from the tri-state area (or not too far away) knows any good rim repair shops?

Sorry that happened. Did you buy a new tire also? It appears to be cut a little on the side wall.

Thanks for the condolences guys, lol. Although little it still eats at me. The sidewall was just scuffed up a bit doesn't appear to be punctured. I can live with the tire as is for now, but am I debating making the new rim a complete wheel and tire. The damaged one I can store as a full-sized spare.

So sorry for the damage to your beautiful Kona blue pony.

I'm sure she'll be up & running again in no time. Best of luck with the repair, and if you feel up to it, post some pics. when she's fixed up!
