The car is on a car carrier right now. The plan is that as soon as it arrives at the dealership, I get a call, come by, do the final paper work and come back to pick up the car after they do the predelivery steps (no detailing, maybe only wash, no drying) and I come back to drive off into the sunset.
It’s your car Howard. Let them do whatever you want. Good luck.

No wash, just going to take it as is (this week) and go to a detailer that will put on Ceramic Pro for me. With I could spring for the PPF, but I am at my limit at the moment.

Nice car, I hope you enjoy!!!
You will be disappointed if you don't do either PPF (first choice) of at least front mud flaps. you will get gravel rash in the front of the rear wheel arches.
Trust me I have had a 2016 Mustang GT and I didn't have either. (lots of gravel rash) (stone chips)
I will be getting both plus ceramic coating.

Do you have any recommendations for flaps for the Mach 1?

12g is right. First protect. That means PPF. You can use a ceramic based spray after that for ease of maintenance and shine. Than when you the extra cash, do a full ceramic coatings. I promise you will regret doing it the other way after you get your first chip.

LOL maybe he does not drive on gravel, dirt roads, ride behind dump trucks, or stuck on a cars bumper ahead.

Avoid these also, don't park close to entrances of public buildings, and as far away from same. A small walk will do a driver good.

I think the efforts suggested are well intended, and should be considered certainly not a must. For the prices, I can get a good bit of performance. That's a bargain and something felt driving the car.

Do like keeping my Mustang looking new. Regular wash, quality wax, some labor, does it and keeps the paint protected.

OP lives in New York City. He needs all the protection he can get.

Honestly, if I could spend for the wrap I would do so. I am having the car Ceramic Pro coated by a high end detailer with a great reputation. Two layers with a 2 year guarantee and will go back there for periodic "touch ups" Additionally, I am looking for mud flaps to put on that have minimal cost in look and attaching and maximum benefit.

The GT350 versions would be a better fit? What color did you opt for, black?
I do not have a poke issue and used PPF instead so no go on the splash guards. The difference is the size. Pick what works best for you. If you want them to standout go color, if not, black.

I asked a "high end" detailer here. He quoted me 7k for the PPF. No can do.
Thanks.

That sounds high. Are they doing the whole car? Entire front clip should be half of that. Maybe shop around for a more reasonable detailer.
