Just thought I would post a before and after pic through the back up cam (with DSLR, exposure did not change). This was the brightest light, and the true effect as seen by the backup cam. I like it. Certainly whiter too.

When you say the camera exposure didnt change but it looked like it did. Notice how the letters were darker?
Anyway, I corrected it and the new reverse light does seem brighter.

You know what?
I think the brake pedal must have been depressed for the first one too.
But the DSLR camera settings were in manual, and thus did not change. WHat is important to note (if anything) is what the picture of the screen (the image on the screen) is saying, because there, definitely there is not adjustment.

Looks nice. Honestly, the stock light works fine for me. I see perfectly. The engineer who designed the light did an excellent job with the reflector/lens. Try backing up at night in a Chevrolet Volt... you see nothing but a small cone of dim light in the rear camera! Whoever designed that light should have been fired.

Here's the comparison photos that Diode Dynamics uses on their website.

Yeah, saw those. The point of this was to show directly how it would affect the backup cam, which is 100 % inscrutable. I am not however doubting those pics on DD's site, but you can not change exposures on the backup cam.

^^^ No doubt that the brightest one they sell (the XP80) will really light up the back-up camera view. Good to see it does show up well on the camera.
