Been thinking that myself even though mine is about to leave the USA !Forget the bmw... Which dealer now has a cancelled order for a guard GT that they need to shift????
Ditto. No, it's not a manual (didn't want one) or a DCT but when you get into Sport+ with the gearbox in sport mode the paddles are a whole different experience. And it rev matches on the down shift. I haven't had the balls/space/grip/mileage to get into track mode yet.Oh! but shock horror! It's an Auto! .. I love my Auto and I love the deep Americal Growl only an Auto can give! I also love the flappy Paddles that where so much fun at Silverstone!
And I love the attention the Mustang gets! Try getting that with the Berlin Motor Works! LOL!
I got into track mode for the first time on Monday.....it really is great funDitto. even my mate that loves his manuals, enjoyed his turn at driving.I just didn't like the long gear shift and the feel of BMW Manuals is not all that, I have owned a number of Honda type R's and their manual shifters are excellent. The DCT on the M3 was perfectly matched to the high revving engine and in full attack made hammering home the changes at high revs was very enjoyable. Why's that? There manual box in the competition pack is sweet! Who has a performance car and no manual?
There no way I would even take a look at the DCT, even in my 911 I had a short throw shifter over PDK, then again I use mine on tracks and balancing a car with the clutch and modulating throughout corners is very useful, autos just don't compare on a track
