I go back and forth on whether I prefer the black or nickel finish wheels. I Actually really like the design so won't likely ever go aftermarket. I may buy a black set at some point to mix it up, though.

Just wait until you have to clean them...

They are no fun. If I were spending the money, and I will be eventually if I keep it, I wouldn't spend it on these. Not for a daily driver. I wash my car 3 times a week, and enjoy washing cars, but not those wheels.

True story. They are a giant PITA to wash. T takes as long to wash the wheels as it does the rest of the car.

I am going to have to up my car wash game. For the longest time I have been using meguires car wash stuff but once the blue beast gets here that will be changing. So much stuff out there it is hard to know what really good stuff is.

I got into proper detailing a few years ago. Contrary to what you might read, it does not cost a fortune to take good care of a car. Being careful and using common sense is more important than spending hundreds of dollars on high end soaps and towels. Remember that the vast majority of scratching and micromarring comes from improper (careless) washing technique.

Yep. Totally get that. I think I have decent skills already I just need better tools to complete it. You know 2 buckets, grit guards, wheel wollies, assortment of microfiber towels, maybe a foam gun. Heck maybe even an electric pressure washer.

I'm pretty OCD about my car washing and car care for the most part. I can buff and do some paint correction. I have, what I feel, is a decent setup for cleaning that doesn't break the bank. I'm by no means some expert but feel free to ask any questions. I use a paint depth meter and porter cable with foam cannon and pressure washer when I'm getting serious at home. I have a slew of chemicals that if anyone is interested they can come over and check out.

I sent an email to a couple places asking about what films they use, how they cut the films, and their pricing. I let them know I am very picky and dont mind paying a little more for a quality job. Maybe I asked too many questions......the following is the response I received from "Performance Films of Tennessee":

Brian,

Honestly, I got nervous just reading your email. We tint car all day, everyday. We just come in and do our thing. With us knowing your so nervous it will make us be nervous and who knows what will happen. Sorry man, maybe you should find someone else.

What did your email say? I've had three cars done there and they have done an awesome job on each car. Pretty much perfect. Plus if there is an issue, as in a particulate that got caught in the film they will fix it if you're not happy.

On the details front I have learned a lot from Autogeek.net

Great vids and how-to's and their customer service is awesome. Got a Flex DA a few years back and it can pretty much correct anything

I can dig up exactly what I sent them if you'd like to see it. I basically just asked about pricing, what films they used, and let them know Im very picky and want to find a place that stands by their work before I trust someone to work on my car.

Hate to change the topic too much, but have any of you guys heard about/read about/ have any experience with the JMS pedalmax? The first time I read about it I assumed it was snake oil, but now I'm not so sure. It is basically a device that plugs into the throttle pedal that amplifies the signal to the TPS and supposedly gets rid of the delay that the drive-by-wire systems tend to have. Thoughts

I've driven cars with horrible DBW throttle lag response time, the Mustang doesn't bother me with the input lag. It seems like a waste to me, but that's just my opinion.
