Tail lights could we modify to US spec?

thats the tail light control module,

that is the harness for the rear lights so as you can see it has an odd number of connectors, if that goes to the top stop light or the control module... well thats anybodies guess, so it could go somewhere under the dash and run a loom from that to the rear loom or it could mount at the back and just have a simple in-out circuit for each light with something like a PWM circuit run by a 555 timer for each connector on the loom.

I saw that picture of the tail light control module but it doesn't show where the tail light control module sits in the car.

Would be nice to find out and if my conversion is successful when my car arrives. I will post up the instructions of the tail light conversion for everyone else.

Already have the 50th anniversary parts (taillights, front grille and trunk lid) delivered ready to put on once my GT arrives in May.

No current workshop service manual I've seen so far that shows this in detail

well since they do 2 versions of the control module available, 1 with light groups and 1 without light groups, i tend to think it will just be a matter of swapping out the controller, one will have a simple timer circuit which is tripped when it gets the signal from the indicator and turn one lamp on-off-on-off the other control module would have a more complex circuit that would turn 1-on-off on, and then step to 2-on-off, and then step to 3-on-off, then repeat. neither circuit is hard to create, especially if we are talking about a simple semiconductor with 2 input-3 ouput... i knew my years as an electrical/electronics engineer would pay off eventially, other than paying cash for a new mustang lol

Sigh, Do you deal with SAI regulations for any form of your work? the word "SHALL" does not mean "MUST". SAI use the term "PROHIBITED" for this purpose.

Listen mate, you can do what ever the hell you want with your car, but if you dont know dont throw out false information, i seem to recall somebody mentioning upgrading the carbs on their cars. a simple headlight swap is fine and would pass ADR scrutineering no problems as per the mustang motorsport one.

It wasn't false informtion, the words are there, you pointed the line out yourself, after asking me where it states it. You then must have stopped reading, as I didnt say SHALL means MUST, I simply pointed out that State Vehicles Regs state MUST.

Same as I said to the other guy, how does my knowledge of current car engines relate to reading and undertsanding legal terms? Oh yeh this must be the way you try put someone down. I havent put anyone down, but you all seem to think its funny and righteous.

So i guess I wont share the things I learnt from my dealer, re shipping info and some other interesting small things. I mean, I know nothing about the current fuel delivery systems used. Yeh I guess working on and replacing components like transmissions in cars that predate 1980 translates to knowing nothing about anything.... according to your leaps of fanciful logic.

yeah the tail lights are tricky, if you have a non-constant brake light when the brake pedal is pushed, it is not legal, but that never stopped anybody anyway.

This says US to EU, but being a euro numberplate, im assuming it means EU to US tail light conversion.

No description in the video regarding the source of these tail lights, however the car looks the same as the 'Asch motorsport' exhaust car.

But they look good. Break lights on with turn signal too!

Edit: Have since worked out that these are the work of Caniggia too, Great Quality video to show a great looking conversion.
Now I just want some sort of confirmation of what is legal in Australia regarding the sequential.


Also it looks like the fog light is on the outside as opposed to the inside here

I have complete set of Red USA tails in Australia.
I also have the clear set currently on my car.
If i send you my red USA lenses a can you make them work as follows:
1) No sequential indicators.
2) ALL 6 lights come on with brake. (red)
3) Single outer most light come on with indictors (amber)
4) Can you also put EU spec (6 pin) plug on them ?

If yes to above, how much ?
