Does anyone know if Ford stops releasing updates once a vehicle gets to a certain age? My Mustang did an auto update yesterday and I like how the new layout of the screen looks. I looked online to see if an update was available for my 2016 Edge with Snyc 3 and it said I was up to date. It hasn't been updated for over a year so I'm assuming they won't be releasing one for the Edge? Only difference between the two cars is the Mustang has GPS and the Edge doesn't. Everything else looks identical.

I've set up a profile on the Ford Owners website that you have to enter the VIN number in your profile. So it tracks your exact vehicle, I checked this morning and it said my version of sync was the lastest version. When I have updated the Edge I did it via the usb stick and then went back to the website reinserted the usb to confirm the update was completed. I'll check the site from time to time to see if they post an update.

Your cars have two different Sync 3 software versions. The 16’ Edge has 3.0. The 19’ Mustang has 3.4. You also need to check build numbers. That will tell you if you have the latest versions.

Sync 3.0 version 20204 is the latest…..I think. 🤔
Sync 3.4 version 21098 is the latest.

That is exactly what I have. So back to the original question, do you know if they'll continue to release updates for that version? Thanks.

Only Ford knows. I would think the any performance / appearance upgrades are done. Strictly behind the grill changes at this point.
