Sync 3 can’t open Apps.

Hello, thank you for any help,my friend has a 2018 Mustang 4cyl with a sync 3 in it. Out of nowhere, he cannot use his apps anymore. I did a soft reset. I did a master reset I disconnected the battery, and I made sure I had a new charging wire. I also went on Ford website and downloaded the new update And I installed it and still no luck. I hooked up my scanner and I am getting code. Audio control module. U3000:42 AA and
DSP digital signal processing module. U3003:16-0A. Thank you again for any help.

Anything done to the car like a 4-to-8-inch sync upgrade or after-market stereo?

Generally, if there is nothing wrong with the hardware, you can use a copy of Syn3Updater to re-flash or re-download all of the Sync programming.

I suggest you try the "Create RW Data Cleaner USB" utility in the software which will clear out any Sync 3 data caches, etc. You can then move to upgrading, reinstalling, downgrading Sync.

There could be a number of issues going on, such as failed hardware, too much map data downloaded, too much voice-to-text data, or an update that didn't finish.

Syn3Updater should be able to fix any issue you have, in so much as there isn't a module failure.

Thank you it’s actually my neighbors car he likes to use it just for wayz. It’s the stock original 8in screen. He had the car since new. I went on the ford website site and put his vin number in and it said he had an update. So I uploaded it on a flash drive and put it into the car. Right now he is running sync 3.0. With the new update it’s still 3.0 point Something. I hooked the car up to my Wi-Fi and when I was trying to download a new update, it keeps telling me previous scan incomplete. I am going to try what you said to see if that works. Thank you for the help.

I would suggest updating to Sync version 3.4. Read all about it here.

It sounds like the Ford update isn't completing properly. You need to use Syn3Updater to repair the data, as the Ford way will just keep crashing.

He can upgrade straight to 3.4 using the software and it will fix it if there are no hardware issues.
