From what I've read, F-Mods hasn't jail-broken Sync 4 yet. So you'd lose the ability to gain some great mods such as reverse camera on demand, custom backgrounds, video player etc. Also, lossless audio will be degraded if streamed over bluetooth. So if you're an audiophile, you'll hear the difference.

On my 17 GT350R, I did upgrade my screen from the 8" to the 8.46" from AllThingsSync when my original touchscreen stopped responding. The display looks a lot better (resolution) but I'm stilling running Sync 3.4 with mods.

How much better is your new display vs the old? Is there that much of an upgrade in the resolution?

I have a 2021 and I'm currently running 3.4 and really all is well. I travel a lot for work and most all of the lowliest rental cars I get have a more crisp display than my Mustang has which is disappointing.

Unless someone comes up with a viable conversation to Sync 4 that doesn't cost me my first born, i was considering upgrading my display, if it's worth it.

I had a faulty display so I reached out to Mitral at AllThingsSync. The cost to replace my existing 8.0" display was $100. Instead, I elected to upgrade to the 8.46" display which was $319. Mitral also updated my APIM software (to 3.4 build 23188) and NA maps for free. The uninstall and reinstall I did myself, very easy.

I have the video player mod (from F-Mods) and a few music videos on my music flash drive. However, to be honest, I don't look at the display too often. Nor does anyone else, as I drive solo 95+% of the time. The display is crisper, however, for my usage, I'm not sure how meaningful an upgrade it truly is. At one point, I knew the pixel resolution differences between the displays but I've forgotten them in the past year.

Below is a link to a good video on YouTube describing and demonstrating the difference between the displays. One thing that I was concerned with, (after watching the below video) was if the 8.46" display would be as responsive with the existing APIM. I'm happy to report that I think it's just as fast as the original display.
