Switched power source in cabin for gauges?

Hey Guys, saw a really good write up on this board about wiring up an aftermarket gauge cluster to switched power. I can't find it though, been looking for a few hours and can't remember the key word I used.

Does anyone either know a good thread on it or can recommend a good switched power source to tap without running wiring all over the place? Preferably near the driver's side.
