Noticed a lot of minor swirls and scratches on the brake light housing itself (not the black trim surrounding it). Before I take my normal light polish to the plastic and destroy it, what type of polish should I be using?

I refinish lights on a weekly basis.
a very light plastic polish works (mothers or meguires will work) stay away from professional polishes due to the fact they are way to abrasive and can do more damage if your not used to them.
Also, make sure to keep moving and not stay in one spot too long or you will over heat the plastic and start melting the top layer.
be sure to use a UV protectant(designed for plastics... not armourall) afterwards as you will have removed the top layer of the UV coating applied when the lenses were made.
any questions, pm me

almost forgot, only use a microfiber cloth when polishing them, other may cause more fine swirls
