I can't judge their workmanship (conversely I wouldn't judge others like Modurstang as 'sh*t' either, without actually having used them), but anyone can judge their mark-ups on hardware. £80k for a quasi-Shelby 2015 LHD GT, which is not at all the Shelby GT350 (different engine), which goes for $48k/£34k? Saw you coming sir!
Woops, wasn't calling modurstang sh1te, I was more inferring that some companies (such as your general, non mustang specialists (Gt101, Modurstang, Bill Shep) like Halfords/qwik fit would be the 'shite' that you'd have to 'buy twice' to have it done 'right' whereas these guys live and breathe and specialise in Mustangs, or in GT's case - GT's as well ;). And they know what they're doing for servicing and repairs etc, as a pose to kwikfit and Halfords which are your run of the mill average servicers who may not be able to spot others issues with the car that specialists would be able to.

AS slowhand said, you can put your money wherever, it is yours, I'm personally on a service plan with ford.

I wouldn't give Halfrauds or Kwiksh*t the benefit of a driveby shooting!:ninja:

Yes, it's nearby Mustang specialists I am looking for

There have never been a massive amount of Mustang specialists in the UK, but those that I'd recommend have been mentioned.

GT101 (Kent) are relatively new to the scene, but have a fine reputation already and anyone that's the sole GT (supercar) specialist in the country has to know what they're doing.

Bill Shepherd (Bylfeet, Surrey). I have a lot of respect for Bill, but I believe he's made his money in a very different industry. You'll notice a lot of Bill's stock sits around for quite a while. It's not cheap, but he appeals to a slightly different crowd to a lot of Mustang owners. Think the Goodwood set, and you might see where I'm coming from. Servicing was never their main focus, and few S197 owners ever took their cars there for this purpose. However, as has been mentioned, clearly Bill's mechanics know what they're doing, judging by the Shelby GT upgrade they carried out. I will be forever grateful to Bill (and his old salesman, Dave Wilson) for their hospitality during various events at their showroom, especially considering a set of hood struts was probably the most expensive thing I've ever bought from them! Bill will often spend time chatting to me when I bump into him at other events, too.

The Mustang Workshop (Hook, Hampshire). Roy has a fine reputation for restoring and maintaining the classic Mustangs. He will, of course, turn his hand to servicing the more modern Mustang. Roy, like Bill Shepherd, is seen as the more expensive choice.

Modurstang - (Chipping Norton). A very different setup to the other two already mentioned. Working from a converted barn on a farm (it's actually a lovely location), Mike Lacey is very much down to earth. He's hands on and often makes parts from scratch. There's a good reason many S197 owners, as well as S550 owners now, will make a cross country trip to have Mike (and his small team) work on their Mustang.

Sometimes paying less does NOT mean getting less of a quality service.

:)

Not bad for an hour's work (if it's an axle-back).

Holy sh*t!
Had my Milltek fitted this morning - £38. Father-in-laws garage but that was his labour rate. He said it was the best fitting exhaust he's done SteveP. Went together perfectly. He didn't comment on sound other than to say it was "noticeable"

I will probably use Ian Goss in the Surbiton / Chessington area, he has been working on Amercan cars for years, popped into see him today he's already done a couple of exhausts on s550's.
You can find him on facebook.

So that's an extra grand for the part itself and then TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-FECKING-QUID for less than an hour's work?!

Bloody hell, if anyone wants to bring their car and exhaust to Andover in Hampshire I'll fit it for £65. £15 of that is an hour's ramp hire and the other £50 covers my time and travel from Basingstoke!

It's prices like that mean I will NEVER use them or any company that takes the piss with their pricing.

Changing a catback system is genuinely doable on axle stands. You just need an extra pair of hands to help with the weight when you remove the old one.
