So I "clayed" Ruby on Saturday and applied a nice coat of Pinnacle Souveran paste wax. Rather than a clay bar, I used Eagle One's surface prep mitt which I purchased at Autozone.
First, the Pinnacle paste wax. Triple thumbs up.
This was the first time I "clayed" Ruby. The mitt was easy to use and did, as far as I can tell, a decent to good job.
I base this on the before and after plastic bag test. Before using the mitt, I could really feel the contaminants in the clear coat. Afterwards, while I could still feel some contaminant bumps, they were significantly less than before.
Maybe a good clay bar or a better brand prep mitt would have gotten all the contaminants? I'm a novice at this level of cleaning a car, so thoughts from those who have experience claying cars would be appreciated.
