Automatic GT. I've done it before, but I read you're supposed to let off the brakes and it should be spinning enough that you're not going anywhere.

Is this the proper way? Foot on gas and brake, and slowly let off the brake? That's it?

factory line lock... youtube. but to answer your question you still have to hold the brakes once they start spinning unless youre ready to start rolling out.

I read that holding the brake the entire time messes up the tranny. No truth to that? Please don't flame me, I'm trying to learn!

I thought they all came with line lock... oops
I think they do - I have a base and believe I have the line-lock in my options.

I havent done a burnout in it that way, but I believe it is there for all GTs

Makes no difference on the trans, the harder you press the brakes the harder on the rear brake pads and rotors it is.

Are you talking burnout to show off, or at the drag strip?

They built the line lock right in. Purpose built = best option.
