Wondering what strut tower bar you all are using and also, if the engine cover on the 5.0 can be removed with the strut tower bar in place. I have a Ford Performance oil separator that I have to remove the engine cover to empty. So I was wondering if it would even be worth the trouble of getting a strut tower bar if I have to remove it to do so. Also I was looking at either the black steel Ford Performance strut bar because of the black look, but the aluminum obviously is lighter. Wondering which one you all would go with?

Both steel, just different colors if you're talking about the Ford OEM GT brace compared to the Ford Performance brace.

I went with the GT350R strut tower brace. Cost a bit more, but looks really good. I have a Ford Performance oil separator but haven't had to remove the engine cover to drain. I don't think I removed the engine cover since I installed the strut tower brace, but I think I could if I needed too.

That is great info! The syringe with the tube is a good idea. I use a syringe by itself once I unscrew the top of the FP oil separator, I guess I just like to see how much oil I have inside. It definitely will be good that I can remove the engine cover with the strut bar on.

I thought the black one was steel and the silver one was aluminum. I guess do they both perform and handle the same? Like I said I guess I like the black look as it matches a lot of what is already under the hood, but the other one is about $100 more.

I have the Ford OEM silver one. I'm pretty sure it's Steel. Also, I went with the JLT catch can. Super easy to clean. I liked the looks of the Ford one but it looks to complicated to clean. I'm sure I'll drop a screw or something and turn into a cranky old man that I am every time I gotta clean it.

Here it is. You can see the JLT catch can if you look hard and squint your eyes :cwl:

Can you guys vouch for being able to remove the engine cover with the FP strut tower bar as long as the k-brace is installed?

Also, here is the CJPP link for the strut tower bar that states aluminum. Just wondering if it is a waste of the extra $100 essentially for the black brace vs the gray one.
I don't have the K brace.

I had to remove the strut tower when I took the engine cover to install the JLT catch can.

I put on the Scott Drake strut brace, love how it looks and is so much thicker, actually noticed a solid improvement in the front feel of the Mustang.
It co nects to the 3 strut bolts which makes it a better functional piece.

The first one is the GT350/GT350R brace which is aluminum, but powder coated silver.

The second on is steel and painted black. The OEM silver GT brace is also steel but painted silver.
