I can explain the flowers guys...

So what happened wuz... My wife bought this sofa table from Wayfair so I dom't think it's composite wood. It camr pracitcally built and has some good heft to it. My wife bought a new one so she gave me this to be a bar. Cigars, wine, etc.

Well, she moved it and added plants saying that the blinds MUST be opened always. So will heat be an issue for my bourbon? The only bourbon I find that expires is Bulleit. Even in a closet it gets tainted in a year.

I can put one or two bottles under my staircase but it's a storage/pantry. Calumet 15 is stored there with Eagle Rare. Blantons is unopened and in a box so I think that's okay?

I keep my bourbons in a cool area that never gets direct light. I do know if you have any in your barrel, it will evaporate quickly. I have one myself and with heat it doesn't last long in the wood.

Most bourbons, whiskey, etc.. will be fine stored long term on a shelf or in a closet, cupboard, etc.

That barrel has been very well seasoned so the dried sugars welded shut the spacing in the wood. I've had another barrel before and the wood shrank, causing the metal bands to become loose.

But specifically, the bourbon in the cabenits. I have tequila there too inside the sofa table. I am unsure if that is safe storage.

You should be fine, as long is the liquor does not have anything added to it for flavor, it should not spoil. I have a 40 YO bottle of Tequila that has never been opened, and it is the same color as new. Cool dark places work well for alcohol.

Would you store bourbon in the sofa table picture I posted?

I would not have a problem with it, you can adjust the blinds to keep most of the light out and enough for the plants.

Well, you could invite select friends for a weekly cocktail session and eliminate the problem of inventory. My bar is very simple. Whiskey and Ice. No problems

sadly i think maybe we have both bought into "happy wife-happy life" bs... if you don't think you like where she has placed her hand-me-down cabinet for your whiskeys (and apparently you do appreciate good whiskeys) buy a cabinet you like and place it in the location you think is best... insert beverages and enjoy. i say this only because i now have a hand me down sofa in my office...😅

To be fair, she's not against the idea of me buying a liquor cabenit. I'm thinking about being basic and store them in a barrel.

Weekly trips to the alphabet store help my supply

I like to have one nice bottle that makes it to Christmas.

Also, my days of drinking have become sparse. I've a 1 year old son, work, and school. The MBA eats up all my free time.
