I bought the PP Sto n Sho when I picked up my car in December. Now that my plates are finally here I went to install it and was horrified to find that unless I'm a complete Muppet, the existing holes they want you to use do not allow for a centered placement. Is this the case? This seems like a colossal oversight for the PP version, as the non-PP version of this item installs centered on the car.

That sucks.... It will look like crap if it's skewed like that.

It will center. You will have to drill one hole in the plastic. The directions show this well.

What kind of car jack are you going to use to get a drill under there?

I'm telling you, the PP chin spoiler must have different mount holes. It's not happening.

spin it around
That wouldn't help because I would still need the two mount holes, which are offset because one of the mount holes is centered on the grille.

I ended up hanging the front end over a curb at the school down the street and using my cordless drill. I am planning on getting Rhino ramps and chocks soon.

Here it is installed. I'm not sure I will ever get used to it off-center like that. I might drill two new holes and use a few beefier self-tapping screws for the main mount points.

Did you get the right one. There is one for PP and one for the other. I bought the wrong one and had to send it back to CJ's.

If I remember you use two holes in the front that have existing screws in them and drill one back. It centers, promise

My dealer installed mine in the center; looks like they drilled the two aft holes

Well, I apparently am a Muppet. RTFM boys and girls. The manual stated to flip it around for a centered mounting and drill two pilot holes for the rear mount points. Apologies for ignoring this sage advice earlier in the thread. I watched the installation video and though I had grocked everything...I thought wrong.

i dont remember but i followed the directions
Yeah...I didn't so much. I derped out.

I bought the right part, I brought the wrong brain with me when I did the job.

Yep! Thanks!

Yep, they sure did.

All is right with the world again. Phew!!! Thanks for your help folks! This forum is awesome.

Agree, nice. Mine won't spend any time on the car until I'm told too! :ninja:
