Steering Wheel Improvement?

You're driving a brand new £35K Mustang, and stuff like that (to me - personal opinion), which looks like it's been purchased from a pound shop, just cheapens the whole car.... and worse still - makes it look like it belongs to a Lithuanian pimp!

Edit: I don't know what you do for a living, so apologies if any offence caused if you do happen to be a Lithuanian pimp!

But I am a Lithuanian pimp (and proud - didn't I mention that?). But your honesty is appreciated. I've bitten my tongue many a time on here when I've seen stuff (fake intakes, lowered wheels, spacers, re-painted chrome fittings, all kinds of stripes, etc) that make the Mustang look like it belongs to a Croatian pimp's redneck-dad. So I know the feeling!

That said, I'll probably grow tired of it by Saturday :headbonk:

To complete the package you should definitely install some polished rim spinners and tint all your lights/windows. Then stick an Ali G inspired exhaust on the back.

To add a bit of balance, I don't hate it. Don't get me wrong I don't particularly like looking at it but if it feels better then that's half the battle. And it only cost £20 so its no great loss if ultimately you can't live with it.

Its not nice. But it works for you; and its dirty cheap... so who cares. Its a good stop gap until you find sonething a little better. I think you can take the wheel to an upholsters ans have more padding fitted.

Im considering having mine done with red stitching and a red marker on it... not alcantara. Or goinf 1/2 alcantara. Still unsure - would need to talk to someone about it who knows this stuff...

Sorry - can't help it: I've driven in and out of London for 4hrs with the wheel cover, and I increasingly like it. It seems to have shrunk around the wheel a bit more, but most importantly, it's added width simply makes the wheel FEEL (not look) better - more like a GT car's wheel. The stock wheel is just too thin. And the other solutions are all too costly and/or screw around with the innards too much for my peace of mind (didn't we already hear of someone's car's electrics being screwed up by a faulty dash cam install?)

Yes, they annoy me too - but I'm not fiddling around with fuses, removing bits of facia etc so I'll just have to live with me danglers. :frusty:

Understood. What you can do if you wanted (and i appreciate that lots of people don't) is push your cable under the headlining by the top of the windscreen along to the A pillar. You can then run it down the pillar/rubber trim by the door across to the underside of the glovebox to the centre console then either stop there and connect to the usb/12v or continue along the console to the armrest.
Net panels removed is zero. You'll need a 10m cable though and that'll be tight.
Alternately just keep on dangling ;)

Thanks for this SteveS - I may try it eventually. But my issue with these kinds of interior mods is that, given the acknowledged less than great build-quality of the Mustang, even doing things like 'push your cable under the headlining' (though not actually removing trim) may loosen it and cause a rattle down the line. Until I get a sense of what parts are more (or less) robust, my view is that if you do anything other than just drive the car, bits may fall off!

Yes, in full agreement with you there. What I found with the headlining was that the front edge on mine is a bit of a rough cut, much like the wheel arch liners. You can't see it from the driving position or the outside but its not tidy.
