Steering Wheel Improvement?

My one quibble with the experience of driving the GT is the point of contact with the steering wheel - it's a rather synthetic feeling (even if if it looks like leather) and it's lacking in 'give' under the fingers. But upgrading to the GT350's wheel's alcantara for £350+ is a bit rich for my blood. So, has anyone come across a usable and comfortable cover for the wheel (and hopefully one that looks good too)?

GO to a car upholstery and you'll be able to get them redone in whatever style/colour etc you want.

I'd be gunning for a carbon fibre wheel if I did that... but i'm a sucker for it :lol:

Check out Royal steering wheels and speak to jack. He has done Ian's and I have seen his work on a lot of 350z and M3s.

Quoted me a great price BUT you have to send your wheel off. There are plenty of stock wheels floating around so hopefully you can borrow one?

The GT350's wheel's alcantara is by far the best upgrade you can do.
Don't cheap out now, it's a must do!

I'd like to do the classy thing - but I'm stony broke after all the other mods. So I'm looking at the best cheaper option (that's also reversible if I don't like it). Also, I don't want to remove my steering wheel - too scary for me or anyone else to do.
Mander's idea of a tailored cover sounds interesting. Anyone done it? But I'd also be up for an off-the-peg option - anyone come across a well-regarded cover?

Not tailored cover, total replacement of the steering wheel leather.

Standard wheel does feel a bit thin- even my Honda Civic Tourer Diesel has a thick chunky sporty steering wheel in comparison to the Mustang!

Ditto my Hyundai i40 Touring. But I don't want to spend much to improve it - its inconvenience (to me) is certainly not worth paying over £60 to fix IMO

A beaded seat cover, and one of those old fashioned steering wheel covers that you had to stitch around the wheel with lace...just like my grandad used to have on his Vauxhall Victor........pure class

Wait untill you can get the GT 350 Wheel, I can't describe the difference, a fantastic mod. Fitting is no drama, I've never done one before, it was really easy. Just watch a Utube vid first !
