Checked out their website and they have lots of parts for sale. Can you guys who have bought bits from the US compare prices and see if importing is still the way forward.

I just hope more UK distributors will pop up. I hate the whole importing thing. I'm not sure why as it's pretty easy to do, but I don't like it!

Ordering individually, the components that make up the "stop the hop" package come out at £951.80 from .co.uk and £780.28 from .com.

Both prices exclude delivery but the US price does include 24% for customs and VAT charges.

The UK site does have the strut brace advertised though and it doesn't actually fit. Someone should point that out to them.

Prices are sky high!
Almost double the price on an exhaust compared to another UK suppliers!

Their prices are high and delivery time is long. I have used them for peace of mind though, I cant be doing with all the customs stuff

Hi Centurion.

The part is on the site currently as it fits fine on LHD cars and we support the whole European area. As you can see on the site it says for LHD only: Steeda Strut Tower Brace

Also regarding the "Stop the Hop" pack, we have it on our packages for £879 inc vat

UK Delivery would only add another £10.80 inc vat

Regarding lead times, we are only just starting to get the S550 parts into stock in the UK, as the cars are only just arriving. Normally we hold everything in stock, so on a stocked item lead time is a day, and we aim for next day delivery if we can process the order in time for the days delivery collection.

Certain items especially large / rare ones like wheels or body parts are done to order so will have a longer lead time, but we can happily arrange air shipments to bring rapid gratification!

Have no issues with Steeda US had quite a few parts through CJs
However tried to buy a clutch spring from the UK arm. Priced at £11.75 nice margin there
but they take the piss with a £9.00 postage cost for a spring:eyebulge:
They e mailed me saying this was via Royal Mail and included VAT.
As far as i know i have never been charged VAT at the post office.

Fail Steeda UK £20.75 to get a clutch spring to a customer your avin a laugh.

To be fair, nobody's struts fit UK cars very well due to our explosive hinges.

Hi everyone.

Thanks for the feedback. Just a couple of updates.

1. The Steeda bonnet struts have now been re-designed so they will work perfectly with EU spec cars, and should be available shortly once we receive the new design.

2. Correct the Post Office doesn't charge VAT, but we have to on our services, including delivery (whoever we use as courier)

3. We are working on the Steeda Strut Brace so it will also work with RHD cars. Updates to follow...

I assume you've just modified the large bracket that bolts to the bonnet to be slightly slimmer to accommodate our wider hinge ?

Hi Steeda perhaps you should talk to a few guys who are vat reg and run Ebay shops as to how they manage to post small items at sensible postage costs.
