Steeda Interior Hood Latch

Sorry for the confusion - we are asking about the thickness of the shaft that the latch goes on, on the Mustang.

We did not change the latch for export, that is why we are thinking the connection point on the Mustang may be a different size than what we run here in the States - going back to the question, why would they change the diameter on the Europen model.

It sticks out 14mm and is 9 mm across

I hadn't actually compared the figures, but now you've pointed it out it does explain the movement in the vids.

So then if the part #'s match up for UK vs US it should be the same correct? On the US fordparts websote its #16916....hood control Cable Assembly. Not sure if that helps or you find a part #.

I spoke to manufacturing & they investigated it ... the OE piece we looked at on the 2018 has as much play in it as your video.

We are not looking to revise at this time.

Generally, and from customer feedback I’ve heard, it seems like Steeda products are sometimes hits and sometimes misses with people. You won’t know until you try. That’s why I’d never risk a purchase.

go buy some brass rod to create a bush that'll pad out the gap won't cost you much as you only need like 1cm of it at most.

C'mon TJ, OE on these cars isn't a benchmark. Aftermarket is generally expected to be an improvement otherwise why bother?

If there's a good reason the play exists ie functionality, fair enough.

You guys can do better than this.

I have to say that this is a "non-answer" IMHO-

surely Steeda want to be an improvement on the OE design? - which is why people buy from them...

isnt it?

to say that the original has as much play in it as theirs doesn't really give much confidence -

Or did I miss something? (at my age that is perfectly possible!!)
