i dont think I am out of line to be honest. I have tried to explain in detail about how it all went down with picture intensive posts. However, Steeda still believes I did not install the struts correctly (you can refer to the post above by David), well one of the struts, cause the other strut was installed perfectly since nothing is wrong with it?

@Khyber Maybe you will understand me better when your car gets damaged after an install, and then the vendor blames you for your installation skills and not the possibility of a poor quality product by them.

I would have reacted differently if Steeda had replied saying, "sorry for the damage, this usually doesnt happen, a replacement is on the way, and i assure you your 100% satisfaction" rather than saying "Thanks for the additional info, although WE STILL BELIEVE this was installed incorrectly"

If Steeda wanted to help me, they could have done so way before (considering David has my account details already in his PM since 1st of June) this thread got hyped up, but their intentions are clear.

So :clap2:
this changes things a bit

well I for one thing wouldn't keep pressing on the hood soon as it became difficult...so.....[emoji38]

you need to relax though
I was relaxed initially if you read my first post , but I got furious when...................... I guess we all are human

How? The stories don't align.

OP said he got his struts yesterday, June 8th and installed them. But he states that David has his "account" info from a PM on June 1st? How do the 2 even correlate?

Because I had PMd him earlier regarding the shipment on June 1st. He has my account details since then. I am in contact with him via Pm on this forum. But he still insists on me Pming him my contact details so he can rectify the issue? After 10 posts on this thread?

The point is that it was never steedas intention to help me until the last post when things escalated further.

Am I still out of line after all of this???

Not everyone keeps their PM's or he is doing it to ENSURE he has the correct info. Man...I gotta bit my tonque with you and that never happens.

Why wasn't I asked for my contact details earlier by steeda to help me? I had showed a concern and rather I was shown the door in steedas first post.

I still don't understand how this happened. When I close my hood, I pull it by the latch loop/hook (underside of hood) until the strut releases tension, stop about 12 inches from closure, then let it go. The damage looks like someone pulled down hard from the get-go.

Also, very poor forum etiquette and form when dealing with a vendor. Hopefully it's a lesson learned for you.

The damage happened when i was closing the hood. Considering i had just installed it, i was slow in closing the hood, but i heard a sound and my hood jerked 2 inches further down. The strut was bent, off the ball joint, and had scraped the paint off the fender. I stopped right there and pulled it back up and investigated the occurrence. Thus followed this thread..

Also, i believe it was poor etiquette of dealing from a vendor to a customer. I was evidently forced to react the way i did. Had they been supportive initially, I would have had no problems at all.

But then again, I am just another ordinary member of this forum with just 35 posts, my worries, concerns and rants will always be deemed as negative and demeaning to other senior forum members. Its natural, I get it.

What you most likely heard was the ball joint popping loose because it wasn't fully seated and you had to have continued to pull down to create that much damage. It's not like these are highly compressed springs that pop out like a jack-in-the-box. I wouldn't be surprised if there is even a bend in your hood where it bolts to the hinge...

The hood is fine , no damage there. The damage is only on the fender body as seen on the pictures, the ball joint was tightened at 13LBS torque with a torque wrench and it was fully seated cause i have some next level OCD and it would bother me if it wasnt lol.

The popping out was only caused by the bending of the strut, If the strut stayed in its place and didnt bend (just like the one on the drivers side) the ball joint would never have popped out.

sorry try stage 3 motorsports

I had success with stage III Motorsports ...2015 Mustang MRT Original No-Drill Hood Struts (Painted).

They were a little slow on the shipping but these require no drilling or modification whatsoever. Best $130.00 I have spent other than that lobster dinner last week.

I am handy but by no means an expert and I has these installed and removed that nasty prop rod in less then 30 minutes.

You can even get them painted white like your car for an extra $40.00.

Me personally don't think that this MRT struts is better option than steeda or redline struts even considering mrt doesn't need drilling. The reason for that is that mrt struts put much more stress to the fender thin metal (point B on the picture) comparing to the point A of the "frame" (not a fender).
