So I have done one track day with the mustang, while over all the car did great I had a problem of getting into certain gears. I believe I read some others complaining of this.

Does anyone use the Steeda Insert, and have you felt a difference in the shifting? Was it cleaner and more precise.

Thanks

I have it and it does help with shifting for sure but I found myself still missing 3rd sometimes. The biggest thing is just palm it forward with an open hand and it will find 3rd from 2nd.

It works and makes the gearbox tighter. There is an increase in cabin noise, not much, but that is to be expected when you increase the firmness of a bushing attached to the underside of the cabin.

There is an energy suspension bushing available too, that just replaces the rubber insert. I went with the Steeda version.

OP, Don't overlook the Steeda shifter bracket too. The factory part looks like a bad joke compared to the Steeda one.

Both steeda products do a wonderful job together

The stock rubber is almost the consistency of chewing gum

The first mod I made to my car was the Steeda transmission insert. I was missing 3rd or 5th about 1 in 4 tries when driving aggressively. I have about 25k miles on the car now and haven't missed a shift since.

I didn't notice any appreciable increase in NVH. Folks that purchased the Whiteline version seem to complain more about NVH.

For $30 it's a no brainer in my book.

A couple of weeks ago I ran across the Energy Suspension shifter bushing and started the thread in the link above. For $14 this is another no brainer mod that makes a very noticeable improvement in the shifting.
