Or!!! If they are all 4 19x10 wheels but 2 are +35 offset and 2 are +40 offset, when it comes time to rotate back to front/front to back, add a 5mm spacer to the +40 when you run them on the front. Then you will have a square setup up with 285/35r19 tires without any clearance issues. If you run all season tires, the Conti DWS06 is bi directional amongst some others. Or when you run the +40 on the back, just add the 5mm spacer there.I have a 2021 base GT and I ordered a set of 19 x 10 wheels to do a square setup with 275/40/19 tires all around.
The front offset is +35, while the rear offset is +40. I was expecting the offset to be the same all around, but the manufacturer stated that the front needed +35 to clear the brakes and the rear needed +40 to tuck into the fender.
This is my first set of wheels so I wanted to make sure that sounded right before I mount them. I'm also wondering the following:
- Will the fronts poke out noticeably compared to the rear with the 5mm offset difference?
- Will I still be able to rotate my tires front to rear with the different wheel offsets?
- Any other cons to having different offsets between front and rear with the same wheel size?
Thanks for any help I'm pretty new to all of this!
Edit:
Just to clarify - when I ordered the wheels I said I wanted either +35 OR +40 all around, whichever one worked best fitment wise.
When they got delivered I noticed two of them had +35mm and the other two had +40mm offset. The manufacturer stated that they did this because the front needed +35 to clear the brakes and the rear needed +40 to tuck into the fender.
Trying to figure out at this point if I should just try to return the +40mm offset wheels and exchange them for +35mm offset so it's the same all around.
