Good morning my friends; I was reading thru the 86 page source book and found something interesting. It says that the new 2020 Shelby GT500 is "78.2 inches wide without the mirrors". I then looked up the 2019 GT350 and it says it is "75.9 inches without the mirrors". If that is correct then the new GT500 is "2.3 inches wider than the GT350". The reason I always look up a cars specs is to see how it will fit in my 3 1/2 car garage. As an example the 2019 Redeye Hellcat that I sold about 6 weeks ago was "78.3 inches wide". Also just for the record the book said the length of the GT500 is 190.2" and when looking up the 2019 GT350 from multiple sources it said that car is 188.9" inches in length. You wouldn't think with the cost of tooling and fabrication that they would have made this car 2.3" wider??? By the way I did find reading that 86 page book extremely interesting. Now there's going to be a test on it later. LOL PS My other comment is this, after reading the 86 page book a person begins to truly realize just how "WORLD CLASS" this car really is.

The front fenders on the GT500 are wider. The doors and quarters appear to be the same width as the GT350. I have no idea how they measure a car. The back end is also the same as the GT350 so I am assuming the length difference is in the nose design.

It's been known that the GT500 is wider than the GT350 in the front. Just look at the black area on the outer sides of the headlights on the GT500 and you will see they extend the fenders by a few inches.

Just to be clear i think the front fenders are like ~10mm wider if i recall making the front ~20mm wider than other models so not even 1". So the only explanation would be that the splitter wickers add the additional width because i don't believe the actually 'body' anywhere is ~3" wider.

I would think they base the measurements around the base car without CFTP like they do with the weight but I could be wrong.
