Sad we have to put cameras on everything now.
As I understand it dash cameras are inadmissable in court in Germany. Privacy laws gone wild. Kinda ironic the Berlin xmas market azzhole terrorist was filmed on a car dashcam ramming towards the market. I bet police used it in that situitation since they had nothing else to go on. :headbonk: Maybe some common sense changes will come from our politicians however, I'm not holding my breath.

Berli's, by chance?
Yep. They do great work. I was most concerned about matching the paint but they nailed it.

Showed the car to a friend who has been a body repair guy for 35 years without telling him where the repairs had been done. I asked him to look it over and see if he could tell which part of the car had been repaired. He guessed the left rear quarter panel but the repair was the right rear quarter panel and the rear bumper.

That's pretty good when an experienced body man can't spot the repair and re-paint.

Skinnysaurus, where in NJ are you? I recently had a front fascia repair done that I paid for out of pocket. I went through a couple shops before deciding on the one I wanted to use. They did me right and went beyond my expectations on the repair. PM if you would like more info.

it takes 20 mins to take a bumper off. a few 10 mm screws and a few 6mm. really easy. look on ebay and get a new bumper for less than $500. call the insurance company and tell them to disregard. keep the vin number from being tagged with an accident with front end damage. hurt you in the long run if you decide to sell.
that's called fraud, and is criminally prosecutable. advising someone to do it is called conspiracy and only needs a act in furtherance to be prosecutable. probably not a good idea to document it on a forum. :headbonk:

All my venting lately about careless and morally bankrupt people in parking lots and a man comes to the door this morning around 9 to let me know he had backed into my truck at 4am. Said he didn't want to be at our door so early so he came back. I thanked him for coming back and he said "it's just the right thing to do."

A lesson in humanity for me on Christmas eve..lol. And just a broken tail light housing. :)

How is fixing your car yourself and paying for repairs out of pocket instead of going through the insurance considered fraud?

It's just a bumper replacement - LoL. There's no law that says you can't fix your own car.
