Installed the FTBR Bracket. The purpose of this insert is to firm up shifts on a body-mounted shifter. The FTBR mounts the shifter to the trans, so this bushing actually causes more issues rather than it solves.Didn’t like the insert or are you going with a different tranny and no longer have a use for it?
I was wrong.Copy that.
Good move on your part to keep it. I have one in my Bullitt, along with a Steeda Tri-ax race shifter, differential bushings and poly motor mounts. My NVH is very minimal and I didn’t have to drill whole in my insert.I was wrong.
I reinstalled the bushing (without the Steeda shifter mount) to see how it affected the trans-mounted shifter. I’ve got it still, why not?
It still serves its purpose of reducing the transmission bushing deflection… which seemed to result in a crisper shift and *slightly* stiffer launches (Slightest bit of wheel hop seems to have been replaced with wheel spin). Makes sense, as the slight deflection in the trans bushing would ultimately manifest itself through the driveshaft to the rear wheels, as the wheel loses and regains traction.
Stiffening up the trans bushing makes a slight improvement in shift crispness and oddly enough, traction.
Sorry 6G fam… Sold this one back to myself.
